The Academy for Impact is a global eLearning platform developed by Siemens Stiftung. It provides high-quality professional development opportunities, including self-paced courses, webinars, and other learning programs. We are committed to ensuring that learning opportunities are accessible to all, which is why all our courses are completely free of charge. While the primary language is English, we are working to offer course content soon in Spanish.

Our initial course offers are designed around a comprehensive toolkit for social entrepreneurs. The focus is on providing practical knowledge and skills for creating and sustaining impact-driven business models.
Yes! While the Academy for Impact primarily supports social entrepreneurs and organizations from the Global South working in impact-oriented sectors, anyone with an interest in these topics is welcome to participate. Our platform is designed to help learners develop the skills they need to create sustainable, positive change in their communities.
It’s easy to get started!
- Visit our website.
- Scroll all the way down to click on "Register". Alternatively, click on "Login" in the top right-hand corner and then on "Create new account".
- Fill in the form with your details and click "Create my new account."
- Check your email for a confirmation message (remember to check your spam folder if you don’t see it).
- Follow the instructions in the email to complete your registration.
Once registered, you can log in by entering your email and password under the "Login" section at the top right-hand corner of the website.
To search for a specific course, simply type the course name in the search box under the "Course Library" heading located at the top navigation bar of the platform’s homepage. You can also browse the “Course Library” to find interesting courses.
To enroll in a course:
- Browse the "Course Library" and select the course you're interested in or type in the search box.
- Click "Get started."
- Click "Enroll Now" and confirm by clicking "Enroll Now" again. Your selected course will now appear in your "Dashboard."
You can enroll in as many courses as you like. Simply follow the instructions above for each individual course.
You can access all the courses you are enrolled in by visiting your "Dashboard."
- Log in to the platform.
- Click "Dashboard" in the top navigation.
- Find the section "My Courses" on that page to view your enrolled courses.
You can pause a course and resume it at your convenience. Your progress is automatically saved, so you can pick up right where you left off from your "Dashboard".

For feedback on existing courses, make sure to enrol in the respective course and follow these 2 steps:
- Click on the "Feedback" tile under the course description.
- Follow the link to the feedback form, and provide your insights and suggestions.
For some courses, you might need to complete the course content before accessing the feedback form.

Yes! You will receive badges for completing courses within the Academy for Impact. You can find their associated competencies and requirements directly in the respective courses. The badges are then visible in your profile and can be used to showcase your newly acquired skills. Given that they are issued through the Open Badge Factory, they are also transferable. Therefore, you can not only display them on your profile page on the Academy for Impact but also on many other platforms.
No prior experience is necessary. Our learning material is designed for learners at various stages of their professional journeys, from beginners to those with more experience. Each course description will detail any specific prerequisites if required.
